Happy Friday
What a long week. Can I get an 'Amen'? Thank-you:)
Nothing exciting that I can report. Just got back from a nice little run to cap a hectic week. I do have to tell you guys about one cool little invention I came across that I've been getting a kick out of (get it?). This is my first shameless plug...so get ready. It's probably only neat for those gadget lovers out there (I'm one of them). It's the Nike Plus iPod shoe sensor...for $30 you get a nifty high-tech computer chip...which is essentially a high-tech pedometer. It's about the size of two half-dollar coins put together. They actually make Nike shoes specifically with a place to slip the chip into...but in Joel-fashion I rigged it up to work on any of my running shoes by using a little velcro and super-glue (see below!). As soon as you start running a nice lady comes on and gives you updates on mileage, pace, time, etc. Amazingly it's extremely consistent. Consistent to the point of a few inches even. The coolest part is when you plug your iPod into the computer it automatically loads your workout to nikeplus.com. On their site it lets you track you progress against goals, pit yourself against others, chart your runs, or just keep track of the miles you put in. Not a necessity by any means, but a cool luxury. Anything that will in the slighest bit motivate me to get out on the road!
I wonder if I get ad revenue for this.
