Graduation Weekend

Last weekend we had the pleasure of heading up to the 'ol SJU for uncle Ted's graduation. It was great to be back on campus. There is nothing like the calming effect of the bell banner and the pine curtain. Hard to believe the first time I walked on campus was over 10 years ago. Man, I feel like an old man now. Walking up the main road, I'm continually amazed at how tall the trees lining the roads are becoming. Pretty soon that campus will be awash in massive oak trees. Who knows, if we happen to hit it big on the Powerball, maybe Noah will be able to attend, and spend some afternoons studying under those same big oaks. We wish we could have stayed even longer. Hopefully it won't be long before we're able to head back up there, and enjoy a hike in the sju woods.

The weather was pretty good too, so we got to spend a lot of quality time outdoors. We got to say hi to Fr. Don, who married Sadie and I, so it was great to catch up with him ever so briefly. Noah got to ham it up with his aunties and his Grandma too! He was a very well behaved young man considering we were moving around all day long! He was napping pretty solidly in the bjorn as Ted walked across the stage. Ironically he conked out as we walked around the halls in the science center (overflow seating)... back in the day his old man also tended to have sleepy eyes whenever he walked those same halls (8am astronomy is not a good idea). Lot of comments about his rug, but I guess thats not so out of the ordinary anymore! Congrats Uncle Ted--we've very proud to have yet another accomplished grad among us!
