Did you know that if you read to your child for 10 minutes a day he/she will know 400 words by the time they go to kindergarten; but if you read to your child for an hour a day your child will know 4000 words by the time they enter kindergarten? This is just a little fun fact that I read and found very interesting. Now that I'm staying home with Noah; I have been doing everything that I can to make him a smart little guy. I talk to him all day long; whether it is counting his fingers and toes
out loud, saying his ABC's or pointing out the animals, colors or objects around his room. I read to him a few times a day (not quite an hour) and just recently he is starting to "look" at the pages of the book. I can't hold a tune myself; but Noah doesn't seem to mind! I sing nursery rhymes to him many times a day as well and he loves it! I get many smiles to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Patty Cake and The Wheels on the Bus. I've also been working on Noah's motor skills; he is now starting to hold more and more of his toys. Last weekend he even started to hold his lovey/tag blanket (thanks Kristen!); one night I even found him cuddling with it while asleep in his swing. It sure is nice to have this time to spend with my little guy and I hope that I'm adding value not only as a mother but also as a teacher!

Looking pretty SMART here in mom's reading glasses!

"My new favorite; my tag blanket!"

"Look mom I can read!"
