A beautiful weekend...
Joel and I haven't been home on a weekend for what seemed like months until this past weekend. It was wonderful to be home and do whatever we wanted...and we did.
Friday: We had plans with friends to celebrate Katie's birthday at a wonderful authentic Mexican restaurant in south Minneapolis; Pepitos. The summer has proven difficult to get together with people due to everyone's busy summer plans and schedules; therefore this was a great opportunity to catch up. Our friends, Emily and Pete brought their daughter Whitney to dinner and we all enjoyed Whitney's company. This was a great opportunity for Joel and I to hold her and of course ask Em and Pete many parenting questions. We are so lucky to have great friends and grateful for their parenting advice and tips!
Saturday: Joel and I woke up early to bike to Lake Nokomis early on Saturday morning as our friends Emily and Mike Koski were competing in the Lifetime Fitness Triathlon ( http://www.ltftriathlon.com/ ). Joel and I made perfect timing to catch Mike as he biked around Lake Harriet and then we quickly biked to Lake Nokomis to catch Mike a few time on his run and we were able to see him finish. Joel and I were bummed that we missed Emily; due to her heat starting later than expected. Way to go Emily and Mike; we are proud of you!
On our way home from the triathlon; Joel and I stopped for lunch in south Minneapolis and then biked to a baby store; Bebe Babble ( http://bebebabble.com/ ). I love everything in this store. Joel and I found an everyday stroller that I love and hope to buy soon and then I've added many items to Baby L's wish list. That afternoon, I was able to sew two bags and then prepare for a BBQ that evening with some other friends. Matt grilled ribs and salmon and we enjoyed friendly company over dinner with a bonfire to follow. Matt and Julie's son, Cade stole the show though. He is now 3.5 months old and has a great personality! Again, we are thankful to Matt and Julie for sharing their parenting advice as well.
Sunday: Joel, Bosco and I walked to a coffee house in our neighborhood, this is something that I wish we could do every morning! It was great to be outside and enjoying the nice weather. The rest of the day consisted of cleaning, laundry, a trip to the fabric store, making a great dinner and going for a run.
All in all a great weekend that I didn't want to come to a close...but all good things come to an end! Have a great week everyone!
